Paine reveals Australia’s XI for first Test against New Zealand

2019-12-11T16:29+11:00

A settled Australia will go unchanged into the first Test against New Zealand starting tomorrow in Perth.

Captain Tim Paine confirmed the Aussies will stick with the same side that romped to a 2-0 series win over Pakistan.

It’s the third Test in a row Australia will field the same XI as they look to continue their dominance against the Kiwis on home soil.

"We've been playing some really good cricket,” Paine told reporters on Wednesday.

“(We’re) happy with the way it's going so we're trying to get a consistent team together and as I touched on after Adelaide the great thing is we've got guys that are performing really well.

"That's what we wanted so we're going to go with the same team."

Temperatures are set to soar inside Optus Stadium with the respective forecasts reaching 39C, 40C, 40C and 40C for the first four days.

The first Test between Australia and New Zealand gets underway in Perth on Thursday and you can catch every ball live on 1116 SEN from 3pm AEST.

Australia’s XI: David Warner, Joe Burns, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade, Travis Head, Tim Paine (c, wk), Pat Cummins, Mitch Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
