Cats pair agree to contract extensions

2019-12-13T13:00+11:00

Geelong pair Sam Menegola and Tom Atkins have both inked contract extensions that will see them remain at the club until at least the end of 2021.

Menegola has established himself at AFL level with the Cats after brief spells with Hawthorn and Fremantle, booting 48 goals in 65 games since arriving in 2015.

Atkins was rewarded with a new deal on the back of a breakout 2019 season where he played 23 games after being drafted as a rookie in 2018.

“Both Sam and Tom have proven themselves as valuable members of our team, and we are pleased to have reached these new agreements,” Geelong’s GM of Football Simon Lloyd told geelongcats.com.au.

“They are influential in setting high standards within our playing group and we feel both have continued growth ahead of them.”

Geelong also recently announced the re-signing of star midfielder Patrick Dangerfield until the end of 2024.
