Fremantle veteran David Mundy has suffered a fractured fibula above his left ankle in a huge setback for the midfielder.
According to general manager of football Peter Bell, Mundy suffered the injury while riding his bike.
“Unfortunately for David Mundy he has sustained a fibula fracture just above his left ankle,” Bell told reporters.
“It occurred a couple of weeks ago in a cycling incident with his kids where the pedal came around and hit his fibula.
“He completed two weeks of training but then presented last Friday with some soreness and the scans showed a fibular fracture.
“Given the injury, it is too early to say the exact timeline for David’s return. David is a professional and we know he will do everything he can to return to football as soon as possible.”
He is expected to be off his feet for a month, with no timeframe placed on his return just yet.
