Robinson chasing "Holy Grail" as Lions enter season full of hope

2020-01-07T09:41+11:00

Mitch Robinson missed Brisbane’s heartbreaking three-point semi-final loss to GWS last season with a hamstring injury and it is driving him to be better in 2020.

The Lions’ first finals bid under Chris Fagan ended with a straight sets exit after a breakout season and the 30-year-old said he is all-in looking for that elusive premiership.

“I think footy players coming into the back-end of their career, I’m 30 now and I’ve got two more years on my contract, you want to taste that success and inevitably win the Grand Final,” Robinson told SEN Breakfast.

“That’s what we all play football for and I’ve rocked up to pre-season with that mindset and I’m challenging as many blokes as I can to improve.

“When you’re younger you don’t really see that end goal in sight because you think you’ve got so long in the system, but when you’re in the back-half of your career you tend to think more about the Holy Grail.

“I’m head down, bum up this year and we can’t wait to get back into it.”

The Lions will return to pre-season training on Friday.
