St Kilda forward Tim Membery has liked what he has seen of new recruit Dan Butler throughout the pre-season.
Butler was one of six new players to join the Saints during a bumper trade period with the former Tiger looking to add speed and skill around goals in 2020.
Under Brett Ratten, St Kilda is seeking a drastic improvement after two tumultuous seasons that yielded just 13 and a half wins.
Membrey, who has worked alongside Butler during the pre-season, says his work rate and attitude has been exemplary.
“They (the recruits) are all going really well at the moment. It’s hard to single out one of them,” Membrey told SEN Drive.
“I’ve worked pretty closely with Dan Butler as he’s come in and taken on a small forward role. His experience; he’s played in a premiership, so he knows what it takes.
“Just his work rate and his effort to get after the opposition at training and really put the heat on them, he’s also very skilful himself.
“He’s probably been the one that has impressed me so far.”
