Jeremy Cameron says he is not in any rush to sign a new contract with the Giants, despite many believing it is simply a matter of when, and not if, he does.
The key forward was added to the club’s leadership group for the 2020 season but continues to be linked to several Victorian clubs.
Speaking at the club’s leadership announcement yesterday, Cameron said things are going in the right direction.
“Definitely no timeline. Some people get it done really quickly, some don’t. Some take time like (Stephen Coniglio),” he said.
“There’s definitely no timeline but things are ticking away nicely and I’m speaking to the right people and it’s all looking positive.
“Every player is different and I guess some take time and some don’t.
“I don’t think it will faze me too much. It’s not a decision I want to run into and make straight away.
“It’s something that you’re entitled to take your time with and I’ll be doing that.
“At the same time I want to make sure I can do my job out there on the track week in and week out and play the best footy I can. I’ll definitely be juggling both.”
