“Huge addition” set to bolster Power in 2020

2020-01-21T16:42+11:00

Port Adelaide star Travis Boak says Jack Watts will be a “huge addition” once fully fit.

Watts broke his leg and dislocated his ankle in a horrific injury that limited the former No.1 draft pick to just two games in 2019.

Having begun last season in impressive fashion playing across half back, Boak hopes Watts can pick up from where he left off before the season-ending leg injury.

“Jack’s obviously coming back from a pretty horrendous injury and he’s starting to get into some drill work now. It’s fantastic to see him out there,” Boak told SEN’s Bob and Andy.

“The brief stint we saw of him last year was incredible for us; what he brought into that back half being able to use the ball the way he does and read the play.

“He’s going to be a huge addition for us this year.”

Watts, 28, has played 21 games in two seasons for Port Adelaide since joining from Melbourne at the end of 2017.

Ken Hinkley’s travel to Moreton Bay to face Brisbane in their Marsh Community Series opener on February 23.
