A fully fit Max King looms as an exciting watch for St Kilda fans in 2020.
An ankle injury in the VFL saw the Saints put the former No.4 draft pick on ice for the remainder of 2019 after there were initial fears he had re-injured his reconstructed right knee.
Entering his second AFL season, the young key forward has enjoyed an uninterrupted pre-season and could potentially debut against North Melbourne in Round 1.
Defender Jake Carlisle has been opposed to King in match simulation and couldn’t speak highly enough of the rangy 19-year-old.
"He (King) is looking really good," Carlisle told reporters on Monday.
"He's fit, he's strong and I think his knee's been pretty good and I think his ankle from last year has been really good.
"I don't like playing on him at training so it's pretty good handing him over (to another teammate) at times because he's going to be a pretty good player."
With Josh Bruce joining the Western Bulldogs, King is set to play a prominent role alongside spearhead Tim Membrey.
