Gun Tiger forward trio want to bring the "mayhem" in 2020

2020-01-23T09:25+11:00

Richmond is looking to hit the ground running when the club officially enters the AFLW competition in Round 1 against Carlton.

The Tigers went after big-name forwards when building their list, successfully recruiting Western Bulldogs captain Katie Brennan, Brisbane star Sabrina Frederick and underrated Giant Christina Bernardi.

How the three of them coexist in the one forward line will be one of the storylines of the season, but Frederick said they have quickly gelled as a unit.

“We’ve brought in some big names and some talented people,” she told SEN Mornings.

“In terms of the forward line, one thing I will say is we’re selfless people and we’ve been working really well together just because we don’t really care who is kicking the goals as long as we work together and I think that works for us.

“Hopefully we can take that into the games and cause some mayhem down there in the forward line.”

The Tigers will be hoping their firepower can make up for a lack of experience through the midfield and in defence.

Frederick, Brennan and Bernardi have combined for 48 goals across the three AFLW seasons, the second most of any current trio at any club, behind reigning champs Adelaide.
