United star Prather provides injury update

2020-01-30T18:00+11:00

Melbourne United star Casey Prather says he hopes to be available to play in a season defining clash against the Brisbane Bullets on Saturday night.

Prather has played just six games this season and hasn’t been in action since mid-December due to numerous injury issues. However, the three-time NBL champion is inching closer to a return and could be back in action as early as this Saturday.

“I sure hope so,” Prather told The SEN NBL Show, when asked if he will play this weekend.

“I’m doing everything I can to get out there. It’s a process for me, it’s a day by day thing, I need to get with the trainers and see what happens.

“The body is feeling good. I was just in practice doing full contact. I’m feeling good, I’m getting my rhythm back. It’s all about timing now.”

United’s 77-67 win over the Perth Wildcats on Wednesday night kept them in the finals hunt, as they sit a game behind the fourth placed Bullets.

A loss to Brisbane on Saturday would give Melbourne no margin for error in the season’s remaining two weeks.
