Star Melbourne ruckman Max Gawn has suffered a reported knee injury during the club’s pre-season camp in Queensland.
AFL.com.au’s Mitch Cleary is reporting Gawn was in pain as he left the field and was further assessed by club doctors. He took no further part in Friday’s session.
The three-time All-Australian is expected to undergo scans to determine the severity of the injury.
Gawn, 28, is a two-time Keith Truscott Trophy winner after tying with Clayton Oliver for the Demons’ best and fairest in what was a horror 2019 campaign for the club.
Melbourne will be sweating over Gawn after midfielder Angus Brayshaw was ruled out for a month with an elbow injury.
