Kane Cornes rates every AFL club song from elite to rotten

2020-02-06T10:04+11:00

Kane Cornes has rated every AFL club song, grouping them into various categories.

It comes after West Coast unveiled their remastered club song on Wednesday, performed by Ian Berney and Ian Kenny from Perth band Birds of Tokyo.

Speaking on SEN Mornings, Cornes listed the three clubs – one of those being his former side Port Adelaide – whose songs are in need of a revamp.

1. Fremantle: “It’s got to go; Fremantle’s song has to go.”

2. Port Adelaide: “It’s not a disaster, but perhaps in the club’s 150th year … I think they could have looked at perhaps just jazzing up the song a little bit.”

3. Adelaide: “It’s not a disaster, but I reckon it’s just dull and a little bit boring.”

Below are all 18 club songs broken up into categories by Cornes:

Elite: Richmond, North Melbourne, GWS, Western Bulldogs.

Sub Elite: Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon.

Advanced: Brisbane, Hawthorn, Melbourne, West Coast.

Good: Sydney, St Kilda, Geelong.

Poor: Port Adelaide, Adelaide, Gold Coast.

Rotten: Fremantle.
