Alastair Lynch's “must watch” team this AFL season

2020-02-21T13:38+11:00

Brisbane great Alastair Lynch believes St Kilda’s raft of recruits makes them the “must watch” team in 2020.

Optimism is high at Moorabbin after making five signings during a fruitful 2019 trade period, headlined by former Docker and three-time premiership Hawk Brad Hill – regarded as one of the competition’s premier wingmen.

Dougal Howard, Paddy Ryder, Zak Jones and Dan Butler will further bolster St Kilda’s list as they strive for a first finals appearance since 2011.

Lynch sees Brett Ratten’s side finishing just outside the top eight, but is fascinated to see how they go integrating their off-season additions.

“I think they will improve … the competition is so tight,” the triple premiership Lion told SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

“I can see them probably just being short (of making finals) but they will be the must watch (team).

“With the amount of talent they have brought into that team, I think it’s going to be a very interesting start to the season for the Saints.”

St Kilda defeated Hawthorn by 21 points in their opening Marsh Community Series match at RSEA Park on Thursday night.
