Star Bulldog in doubt for Round 1 following knee surgery

2020-02-21T17:40+11:00

Western Bulldogs forward Aaron Naughton has been ruled out of tonight’s Marsh Community Series clash with North Melbourne and could miss Round 1.

The breakout star of the 2019 season had his year ended by a serious knee injury that he has been rehabbing across the summer.

He will unfortunately undergo an arthroscope on his right knee, the opposite knee to the one he injured against the Giants, after complaining of discomfort earlier in the week.

The Bulldogs have confirmed the news, saying it is a cartilage concern, but have not yet but a timeframe on his return.

Arthroscopic knee surgery can require anywhere between a couple of weeks and month or two to recover from depending on the severity.

Naughton is expected to be in doubt for Round 1.
