Report: Ben Brown set for big pay day in new Roos deal

2020-02-27T08:14+11:00

Ben Brown is likely to become North Melbourne’s highest paid player as the club and his management reportedly begin negotiations on a new contract.

The key forward has been one of the most consistent performers in the game across the last three seasons, kicking 188 goals in that stretch, the most of any player in the AFL.

Kangaroos football boss Brady Rawlings told the the Herald Sun that their aim is to get him locked away as quickly as they can.

“Ben’s out of contract and we’re negotiating at the moment,” Rawlings said.

“Obviously he’s a really important player for us, not just with his output on the ground. We’d like to get something done as soon as possible.

“Not many players leave this footy club and hopefully it stays that way.”

The report goes on to suggest Brown will likely receive up to $800,000 on a two or three year deal.
