Katy Perry’s performance both before and after Australia’s thumping T20 World Cup win is receiving critical acclaim.

But after the majority of the victorious Australian team joined the pop superstar on stage at the MCG after the match, vice-captain Rachael Haynes wasn’t as lucky.

She told SEN Breakfast that a routine drugs test stopped her from joining in the festivities.

“I am absolutely spewing about (missing the post-game concert) because I had to do a drugs test,” she said.

“The rest of my teammates got up on stage…I saw the photos (after) and the doctor came in and said ‘how good was it getting up and stage’ and I said ‘are you kidding me?’

“I think the girls had an great time and it was awesome that she allowed them to go up.”

Haynes revealed the team were still at the famous ground hours after the 86,174-record crowd had departed.

“We actually ended up staying at the MCG well into the morning to be honest,” she said.

“I’m not quite sure what time we left…once all the lights were out we went back out in the middle and spent some time out there and that was pretty cool.

“Molly Strano is always the one that leads the way and she was pretty funny last night so that was pretty fun.

Australia thumped India by 85 runs on Sunday night, with Alyssa Healy named played of the match.
