Games in Tasmania remain "vital" for Hawthorn

2020-03-26T14:20+11:00

Playing games in Launceston remains key for the Hawks this year and going forward, according to club CEO Justin Reeves.

With the AFL still looking to get out a 17-game season following the COVID-19 shutdown period, Reeves said Hawthorn’s desire to play games in Tassie remains as strong as ever.

“I don’t think (this changes our relationship with Tasmania),” he told SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

“I think Tasmania is part of the Hawthorn Football Club.

“We really hope we can play games in Tasmania this year.

“The AFL are still working towards a 17-game season in whatever timeframe they can get that into and my understanding is that could go right through until late in the year.

“A big part of our plan will be to go to our other home in Tasmania and play games there this year.

“In actual fact, Tasmania becomes a really vital part of us moving forward.”
