Fremantle great names his top 7 Dockers of all-time

2020-04-07T12:28+10:00

Former Fremantle midfielder Paul Hasleby has named his top 7 Dockers of all-time, with a surprise at number one.

Long-time club captain, six-time best and fairest, eight-time leading goal kicker, six-time All-Australian and 350-gamer Matthew Pavlich has NOT come in on top.

A few players were unlucky to miss out, including defender Michael Johnson, Shaun McManus, Shane Parker, Antoni Grover, Stephen Hill and, well himself!

See his top seven Fremantle players below:

7. Michael Walters and Lachie Neale tied

“I think Walters will get there in time, but I’ve got Lachie Neale right with him, but Walters given he is still at the Dockers will occupy that position going forward,” Hasleby told Sportsday WA.

6. David Mundy

“He’s played over 300 games, he’s been terrific through that time in a multitude of positions as well.”

5. Luke McPharlin

“He played on the greats, read the ball very well, he was an outstanding mark and a very good leader too out on the field.”

4. Aaron Sandilands

“I think three times he was All-Australian and a couple of Doig Medals through that period as well and his work in the middle with some of the midfielders was outstanding.”

3. Peter Bell

“He is an absolute champion and a hall of famer.”

2. Matthew Pavlich and 1. Nathan Fyfe

“Pavlich is the games record holder for the Fremantle Dockers, but I think Nathan Fyfe on his trajectory and what he’s done already, he’s been in the top five players in the competition for more years than what Pavlich was.”
