Hunter relinquishes Bulldogs vice-captaincy: McClure

2020-04-20T18:22+10:00

Lachie Hunter has relinquished the vice-captaincy at the Western Bulldogs, according to Sportday’s Sam McClure.

The midfielder drove his Toyota SUV into four parked cars in Middle Park on Thursday night before fleeing the scene.

Hunter returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.123 and was fined $1652 for breaching COVID-19 restrictions.

“Lachie Hunter is no longer the vice-captain of the Western Bulldogs. He has taken it out of the club’s hands and done it himself,” McClure told Sportsday.

“The Western Bulldogs tell me that they will hold off until at least tomorrow, potentially even Wednesday, before they announce it.

“They want to announce everything in one hit. I think themselves and the AFL Integrity Unit want to be satisfied that there is nothing else that needs to be looked at.”

Hunter, 25, will receive a minimum two-game ban from the Bulldogs, according to Fox Footy.
