Crocmedia launches new show The Sport of Gardening

2020-04-24T09:19+10:00

Crocmedia will this week add a new podcast and radio show to its stable – The Sport of Gardening hosted by Dale Vine and SEN’s Jane Nield.

In-keeping with its title, each week will feature an interview with a sporting legend - episode 1 will feature a chat with AFL legend Terry Wallace – discussing his driveway paved with bricks he managed to ‘acquire’ when old buildings at the Whitten Oval were demolished.

On episode two, Dale chats with Sandy Roberts.

The show will be delivered as a podcast every Friday as you head into the weekend and will follow as a radio show across eight SEN or SENTrack stations on Sunday mornings from 8-9am.

The Sport of Gardening will have an initial 8 week run - commencing with the first podcast drop this Friday 24th April and is aimed at connecting with and inspiring listeners as they face more time in their own homes to get out into the garden and take on simple, DIY projects.

Laid-back landscaper Vine, made his media debut on Nine Network’s award-winning reality show, The Block alongside wife Sophie – he quickly won hearts across Australia with his lovable larrikin charm and DIY expertise.

By day, Dale runs his own landscape business called Dvine Scapes. In 2019 he released his first book, Outdoor Reno Guide which features DIY Garden renovations on any budget.

Dale’s experience in transforming garden spaces will be featured through several key segments within the show, each aimed to focus on a different aspect of gardening.

Some examples include:
• Gardening with Kids
• What to plant and when
• Q&A with listeners sending questions via email
• Upcycling Projects – turning trash into treasure!
• Sustainable & organic living – a tip to become more sustainable each week such as composting, recycling, reusing, solar panels, insulation, worm farms etc.
• Product of the Week – Dale road tests a product each week

The Sport of Gardening joins Crocmedia’s other popular podcasts – The Sounding Board with Craig Hutchison and Damian Barrett – now in its fifth season and Don’t Shoot the Messenger with best friends Caroline Wilson and Corrie Perkin who share their thoughts on everything from politics to sport and food each week.

SEN’s radio show podcasts Breakfast with Garry and Tim and Whateley with Gerard Whateley ranked the number 1 and 2 sport podcasts in Australia respectively in the last Australian Podcast Ranker – with just shy of 600,000 podcast downloads between them.
