Report: “Highly unlikely” AFL hubs will be required

2020-05-01T14:27+10:00

It is reportedly “highly unlikely” that AFL quarantine hubs will be required.

Isolation hubs have been floated by the AFL to help restart the 2020 season at a reported cost of up to $40 million.

Several states have requested to host quarantine hubs but Channel Seven reporter Mark Stevens doesn’t think they will be needed.

“Yes. Reliably told a short time ago HIGHLY unlikely they will be required,” Stevens tweeted.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that restrictions could be relaxed with a decison to be made next Friday.

“Today, the national cabinet agreed to bring forward our consideration of the decision on relaxing restrictions to next Friday,” Morrison told reporters.

“Australians have earned an early mark for the hard work they’ve done.

“We will be meeting twice over the course of next week to ensure that we can work through to many things that have to be resolved in order to make those decisions.”
