Former North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley has been arrested, according to Channel 9.
The report stated the 53-year-old faced a Magistrate on Sunday afternoon and didn't apply for bail.
Victoria Police confirmed in a statement on Sunday night that Laidley was charged with stalking among other matters.
He will remain in custody until May 11.
Laidley was part of the 1996 North Melbourne premiership team as a player before going on to coach the club between 2003 and 2009.
He was then part of coaching groups at Port Adelaide and St Kilda before most recently joining Carlton as an assistant.
Laidley became a North Melbourne life member in 2019.
