Former North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley has been arrested, according to Channel 9.

The report stated the 53-year-old faced a Magistrate on Sunday afternoon and didn't apply for bail.

He will remain in custody until May 11.

He was then part of coaching groups at Port Adelaide and St Kilda before most recently joining Carlton as an assistant.
