Dogs mid rates best he's played with, against and best he's seen

In his four and a bit seasons in the game at the elite level, Josh Dunkley has already graced the field with plenty of top quality players.

The Western Bulldogs midfielder was given the unenviable task of naming a player in three categories - the best player he's played with, the best player he's seen and the best he's played on.

I would come as no surprise that the best Dunkley has played with comes in the form of current Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli.

"'Bont' for sure," he told SEN.com.au.

"He's so clean, deceptively strong and very composed with the ball. He breaks lines with his skills also."

As for the best player he's seen?

"Buddy Franklin. Kicks goals from anywhere and his athleticism is incredible for a man of his size," the 2016 premiership player added.

And the best player Dunkley has played on?

"Tom Mitchell. His work rate was something I had never seen before and his hands in close are extremely good," he said of the 2018 Brownlow Medallist.

"You can’t give him access to the footy otherwise he can single-handedly win games for the Hawks."

For the record, Dunkley has a 2-1 record in games against Franklin and has a 1-2 record against Mitchell, that one being the 2016 Grand Final triumph over the Swans.
