Lewis ranks his top 5 Hawthorn teammates

2020-05-14T15:35+10:00

Four-time Hawthorn premiership player Jordan Lewis has ranked the top five teammates of his Hawks career.

Lewis spent 12 years in the brown and gold, playing 264 games for the club alongside some absolute stars of the game.

It’s no surprise to see who he ranked in positions 1 and 2 as most Hawks of that era would likely have a similar rating for the brilliant pair.

Lewis’ top 5 Hawthorn teammates

5. Shane Crawford

“When I first got to the club in 2004, he had four years left in his career but he was a superstar in the late 90s and early 2000s.

“But when we got there he was one of those older guys who really helped propel our careers. A really nurturing type of guy, and god he was an athlete!”

4. Sam Mitchell

“He was an absolute star.

“I think through his whole career he had a chip on his shoulder because he didn’t get drafted early on so he proved a point, absolutely.”

3. Cyril Rioli

“We were blessed to be able to train with him and see it on a regular basis.

“Some of the stuff that he did, I don’t think I’ll ever see in a game again.”

2. Luke Hodge

“Hard to argue.”

1. Lance Franklin

“He is the best player I ever played with.”

Honourable mention

Jarryd Roughead

“Apologies.”
