Who should be on the Brisbane Lions' Mount Rushmore?

2020-05-20T11:04+10:00

Bob Murphy and Andy Maher have named their ‘Mount Rushmore’ for the Brisbane Lions.

For those unaware, they are ranking the top four people (players, coaches or others) who symbolise the heart, soul and the spirit, those who have ignited the imagination and enhanced the foundation of the clubs they have represented – in Andy’s words. The four people who tell the story of the football club - in Bob's words.

They're not necessarily just the four best players the club has ever had.

Bob Murphy pushed for Roger Merrett as the fourth member, but it was pushed to the masses to decide given Andy Maher wanted Simon Black.

Black defeated Merrett in a Twitter poll to earn the final spot.

All four were key members of the club’s three-peat across 2001, 2002 and 2003, with Voss also having the link back to the Brisbane Bears.
