Star Collingwood midfielder in major doubt for round two

2020-05-27T13:19+10:00

Collingwood midfielder Adam Treloar isn't expected to play in round two, according to coach Nathan Buckley.

Treloar missed the Pies' Round 1 win over the Western Bulldogs due to a hamstring injury and suffered a setback while training in isolation last month.

Buckley confirmed that while the star on-baller has returned to full training, he would likely need more time to fully recover before making a return to senior football.

"Treloar came back in and had done a fair block of work," Buckley told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.

"He handled the work over the break really well. He just felt a bit tight in one of his calves. It’s really a low grade strain and is already bouncing around the joint and finding his way back to full fitness.

"We wouldn’t be anticipating that (Treloar) would be available for round two.

"We’re still looking at what our squad will be. There’s been a lot of water that’s gone under the bridge since we played the Bulldogs."

Collingwood will face Richmond at the MCG on June 11 in the first match since the AFL shut down its season on March 22.
