The six clubs that are locks in Dwayne Russell’s top eight

2020-06-17T13:20+10:00

SEN host Dwayne Russell has six clubs locked in his top eight come the end of the 17-round home and away season.

Collingwood, Richmond, West Coast, Port Adelaide, GWS and Brisbane will all make the finals in 2020, according to Russell.

“I reckon the top eight at the end of this season will have Collingwood, Richmond, the West Coast Eagles, Port Adelaide’s started well … I think they’ll make it as well – especially if they beat Fremantle on the weekend, the Giants and Brisbane,” Russell told SEN's Dwayne's World.

“There are six teams that will make the eight in my reckoning.”

Russell sees seven Victorian clubs fighting for the final two spots in the eight.

“So that leaves two spots for these teams including Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne, St Kilda, Essendon, the Dogs and Geelong,” he added.

“North have won both games, Essendon’s won both games, the Saints had a really good performance on the weekend, but Collingwood is going to be a bit of an acid test for them.

“I think Essendon is the team that I would pick to finish higher of those three. I think they’ve got a huge upside.”

Port Adelaide, the Kangaroos and Bombers are the three unbeaten sides after the opening two rounds.
