Adam Hamilton, Head of Media Communications at Tabcorp, is supremely confident that the new deal struck between Sky Racing and Foxtel will only further enhance the racing codes.
From the beginning of next month, Sky Racing 2 will be available as part of the full Sky platform on Foxtel which is huge for harness and greyhound racing in particular.
“From the 1st of August, Sky 2 will be part of the base tier package. No more $5 to tack onto your Foxtel bill to get it,” Hamilton said on SEN Track’s Talking Trots.
“Everyone will be able to watch the full suite of Sky’s racing - Sky 1, Sky 2 and Sky Thoroughbred Central as part of the base package.
“The timing is really good with the start of the new season. Once we get into August we will be starting to build up towards the really good races again in all three codes and it gives us a chance for people to familiarise themselves with it.
“Not only is it going to be a better experience but it will enable us to use both Sky 1 and 2 in a very different way.
“This enables us to better showcase feature racing in harness and greyhounds with a total open platform on Sky Racing 2.”
Hamilton added that there will be a full rebrand of the Sky Racing suite with suggestions more than welcome.
“We are open to all suggestions,” he added.
“Rest assured they will be renamed and rebranded in time.”
