Adelaide captain Rory Sloane will miss four-to-six weeks with a fractured hand.
Sloane injured his left thumb after falling to the ground in a marking contest during the third quarter in Saturday’s loss to West Coast.
Scans uncovered a fracture at the base of Sloane's thumb that will keep him out for up to six weeks.
"The latter stages of rehabilitation will be based on the return of function of Rory's thumb rather than a specific time frame," Crows Head of Science and Medicine Steve Saunders said told afc.com.au.
"Rory will see a specialist on Monday and undergo surgery in the coming days."
Adelaide are yet to win a game in 2020 under rookie coach Matthew Nicks.
They next face seventh-placed St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Monday night.
