Carlton defender signs new three-year deal

2020-07-28T13:19+10:00

Lachie Plowman has agreed to a new three-year deal at Carlton.

Plowman, 25, is among the glut of GWS players to cross to the Blues in recent years, traded south at the end of 2015 alongside former Giants teammates Jed Lamb, Andrew Phillips and Liam Sumner.

Plowman was a No.3 draft pick at the Giants in the 2012 national draft and has been a permanent fixture in the Carlton backline since moving to Princes Park.

The defender was due to come out of contract at the end of this season, but was keen to secure his future with a deal that keeps him in navy blue until at least the end of 2023.

Plowman has impressed with his ability to play on talls and smalls and was one of the Blues’ best players in their win over North Melbourne on Saturday with a game-high nine intercepts.

He played his 100th game against the Western Bulldogs earlier this month.
