Melbourne forward learns MRO fate after sling tackle on Crows youngster

2020-08-06T17:45+10:00

Alex Neal-Bullen’s sling tackle on Adelaide youngster Will Hamill has been sent straight to the tribunal.

Hamill was slammed into the turf in the first quarter of Melbourne’s 51-point win on Wednesday night, immediately leaving the field and failing to return due to concussion.

MRO Michael Christian judged the incident as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.

The Melbourne pressure forward now faces a lengthy period on the sidelines.

Speaking on Fox Footy during the match, David King said: “That’s the action we have to stamp out of the game.”

Neal-Bullen had only just returned to the Melbourne side, playing in his first match since Round 2.

In other MRO news, Adelaide's Lachie Murphy can accept a one-match ban for rough conduct on Jack Viney.
