St Kilda has moved into second spot on the ladder after beating Gold Coast by four points in an entertaining contest at Metricon Stadium on Thursday night.
Saints came from behind to record their seventh win of the season and fourth on the bounce with in-form recruit Dan Butler starring with four goals including the sealer.
Butler took his season goal tally to 21 lifting him to equal second in the Coleman Medal race.
Jack Steele continued his excellent year with 21 disposals and seven score involvements while Hunter Clark (19 disposals) showed immense composure and class in tight spaces when it mattered most.
Ben King was impressive for the Suns with three goals bettering his twin brother Max who finished with one.
St Kilda will be tested in their next match against fifth-placed Geelong at the Gabba next Monday night.
Gold Coast host Essendon at Metricon Stadium next Wednesday night.
