Joe Daniher moving as well as he has in a long time: Heppell

2020-08-07T19:25+10:00

Has Joe Daniher finally turned the corner in his ongoing battle with injury?

Daniher has suffered setback after setback in his battle with leg and groin issues and has not played since Round 9 of 2019.

Essendon captain Dyson Heppell said the key forward is training as well as he has in a long time.

“He’s getting there. He had an awesome training session about three days ago and he moved really, really well,” he told AFL Nation.

“I think that’s the best I’ve seen him move for quite a while and he’s pulling up really well so hopefully he can progress over the next few weeks and we can get him out on the park. It would be bloody nice to see him out there.”

Heppell himself expects to be back in the team within the next month as he battles an ankle injury.

"I'm tracking well. The ankle is progressing nicely. Got a couple of runs under the belt and hopefully back into main training in a couple of weeks and play footy in a month's time or so,” he said.
