Geelong superstar wooing ex-Crows teammate to the Cattery

2020-08-12T12:59+10:00

GEELONG superstar Patrick Dangerfield is wooing another former Adelaide teammate to the Cattery.

Twelve months after Dangerfield played matchmaker for Josh Jenkins and the Cats, the Brownlow medallist is at it again with Brad Crouch.

Crouch, 26, is a restricted free agent at seasons end and has attracted widespread interest from rival clubs across the competition in the past year.

The reigning club best and fairest winner was last year chasing a five-year deal at the Crows, but also considered ways to leave the club.

Like Jenkins, Crouch and Dangerfield remain good mates and the Cats champ is said to have gone in to bat for the onballer.

It’s understood Geelong has gone from having a fleeting interest last year given the Crows’ asking price on Crouch, to a more active interest a year on.

Richmond last year also expressed an interest in Crouch before launching a failed pursuit of Zak Jones.

That Tiger interest, while perhaps not as enthusiastic as the Cats, remains to some degree.

Crouch was in talks with Gold Coast late last year, but a move failed to materialise given the Suns were determined to go to the draft.

Crouch remains sidelined with a hamstring problem for the winless Crows, having aggravated the injury last week when he slipped on a wet verandah at home.
