Report: Brisbane enters race for Joe Daniher

2020-08-12T18:14+10:00

Brisbane has become the latest club to show interest in Essendon forward Joe Daniher, according to Sportsday’s Sam McClure.

The report states that the Lions are monitoring the situation and could enter the race to sign him if he plays football before the 2020 season is finished.

“Both Brisbane and his own club want to actually see him play before they go down the lines of negotiations,” McClure said on Sportsday.

“Brisbane has become one of the destination club in the competition ever since David Noble arrived at the club.

“They lured Lachie Neale away, they lured Luke Hodge out of retirement, and he brought Charlie Cameron from Adelaide, the Noble factor is becoming a thing.”

The 26-year-old hasn’t played senior football since Round 9 last year and becomes a restricted free agent at the end of 2020.

McClure adds that Brisbane is yet to formally approach Daniher.

The restricted free agent requested a trade to Sydney in last year's trade period.
