Port Adelaide premiership coach Mark Williams is not ruling out a sensational move to Adelaide, re-affirming his interest in coaching at AFL level again.
Williams spent over a decade coaching the Power, including leading them to their first ever AFL premiership in 2004.
After leaving the club at the end of the 2010 season, he’s had roles at both GWS and Richmond before heading back to the VFL to coach Werribee in 2018.
When asked by Dwayne Russell whether he’d ever consider working at Adelaide under rookie coach Matthew Nicks, Williams said he would be open to any offer.
“I’d never say no to anything,” he said on SEN’s Dwayne’s World.
“The little man inside me believes I could help any football club or any individual player. I get delight out of doing both so there it is.
“As soon as you walk in the door you love the next club and that’s what my experience has been as a player and a coach.
"It’s amazing how you can still love the clubs you have been at but the fact of the matter is where you’re working is where you love the most right at that moment.”
The 62-year-old hasn’t coached at all for Werribee is 2020 due to COVID-19 which saw the cancellation of the VFL season.
