Edmund’s trade update on Melbourne pair and Fantasia

2020-10-15T12:31+11:00

SEN Chief Sports Reporter Sam Edmund has issued his daily trade and player movement update with Gerard Whateley on SEN’s Whateley.

Edmund has the latest on the futures of Oscar and Tom McDonald at Melbourne and where wantaway Essendon forward Orazio Fantasia is likely to land.

The Bombers and Brisbane have met over Joe Daniher’s move to the Lions – and the discussions have been far from smooth.

Oscar McDonald

"He will move on," Edmund said.

"Opportunities slim for him at Melbourne, both parties agreeing that a trade will almost likely happen."

Tom McDonald

"If an amazing offer takes place, he’s got two years to run on his deal at Melbourne, then Melbourne will trade him - and the player knows that.

"But at the moment that doesn’t look like happening.

"It’s a pretty handsome deal this one, he’s got two years to go on it, he’s made some promises about going away and improving his body shape.

"If you’re a betting person you say Tom McDonald stays, unless there is a really big offer."

Orazio Fantasia

"I think Essendon expect it to be the Crows. We know Adam Kelly has spoken.

"He actually broke the news essentially that the trade request had been put it, which didn’t go down too well at Tullamarine.

"I was speaking to Essendon on the day that came out and they had no idea that Adam Kelly had said that.

"Having said all that I think they’ll recover from that, I think he gets to Adelaide in the end."
