WA club "super" keen on Geelong youngster

Fremantle is “super” keen on Geelong youngster Jordan Clark, according to Channel Seven reporter Ryan Daniels.

Clark is contracted until the end of 2022 but has found senior opportunities hard to come by, playing just three games in 2020 after making 18 appearances in his debut season.

The 19-year-old is a Western Australian native and Daniels understands a potential move home to either the Dockers or West Coast could materialise if he remains on the periphery at the Cats.

“With Jordan Clark, he’s contracted for two years, he’s about to get a significant pay bump,” Daniels told SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

“As you know and everyone knows, Geelong is in big time for a few of these players who might be moving – Shaun Higgins, Brad Crouch and potentially even Jeremy Cameron.

“They need to free up a lot of money, Jordan’s a little bit frustrated in terms of his opportunities this year, he’s played just three games, we know he’s a huge talent.

“But he wants to be playing. I think ideally, he’d be staying at Geelong, he really loves the club, they love him but the kid wants to be out there and potentially a move home to WA isn’t off the cards.

“Watch this space. If the situation doesn’t change for Jordan in the next 12 months, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was back playing for West Coast or Fremantle.

“I’m told Fremantle are the ones who are super, super into him.”

Another Geelong youngster who could be on the move this off-season is Quinton Narkle.

Narkle, like Clark, is a WA product and looks set to depart the Cats for more playing time at a new club.

“Narkle is out of contract, Geelong has not offered him a new contract. They’re waiting to see what happens with list sizes and all those other guys I mentioned earlier,” Daniels said.

“He’s a super talent, we know what he can do, 17 games in four years – I would be very, very surprised at this point if he’s actually at Geelong next year.

“Whether or not he moves back to WA, I don’t think it matters with him, he just wants to play, similar to Clark.

“But his situation is very different - he doesn’t have a contract for next year and I reckon there would be a lot of clubs super keen on Quinton Narkle.”
