The club who would be "in the mix" for Ben Brown

Former GWS list boss Stephen Silvagni says the Giants would “in the mix” to recruit North Melbourne forward Ben Brown.

The 27-year-old is currently on the lookout for a new club after the Kangaroos put him up for trade, with Melbourne reportedly leading the race to secure his services.

But after Jeremy Cameron walked out of the Giants earlier this month, Silvagni says they would be at the very least be considering making a move for Brown.

“I would think the Giants would be in the mix,” he said on AFL Trade Radio’s The Late Trade.

“The fact that they’re losing Jeremy Cameron, you look at their key forwards there, Harry Himmelberg isn’t particularly tall.

“They have Jeremy Finlayson who is in and out of the team and then young Jake Riccardi, who’s first couple of games were pretty good and then fell away.

“I would think that he’d be up on their board, whether they make an approach or not (is up for debate), but he’d certainly be up on the board depending on what happens with Jeremy Cameron.”

Brown struggled this season with form and injury issues, but has kicked over 60 goals in every season between 2017 and 2019.
