With Adam Treloar’s place at Collingwood appearing untenable, the question turns to which teams will go after the star midfielder.
Both Queensland teams appear to have pulled out of the race, but the Herald Sun raised the possibility of the Western Bulldogs targeting him, should they lose Josh Dunkley to Essendon.
Tim Watson believes Treloar would be a perfect fit in the Bulldogs’ system.
“He’d be a great player for the Bulldogs because of the way that he plays and how he can run and spread and all that type of thing. He gives another dimension to that midfield,” he told SEN Breakfast.
“He’d fit in with that style of football.”
Garry Lyon agrees, feeling Treloar could capitalise on greater freedoms, standing next to Marcus Bontempelli, Jack Macrae, Lachie Hunter, Tom Liberatore and Bailey Smith.
“My world he would (fit in at the Bulldogs). He’s a run and gunner,” Lyon said.
“He’d get 1000 possessions at the Western Bulldogs.”
AFL Trade Radio’s Mitch Cleary mentioned on Thursday that Victorian teams are monitoring the Treloar situation very closely.
