Hawthorn’s Isaac Smith has reportedly chosen Geelong, according to a report in the Herald Sun.
Jay Clark understands that the 31-year-old wingman “wants to play for” the Cats and may join this year’s runners-up as a free agent.
Smith was believed to be considering an offer from Melbourne as well as the chance to remain at Waverley but has instead opted for the blue and white hoops.
The three-time premiership player has been with the Hawks since 2010, playing 210 games, and could join North Melbourne’s Shaun Higgins and GWS’ Jeremy Cameron at the Cattery.
The AFL’s free agency period opens today.
