Tigers defender set to request trade to Gold Coast

2020-10-30T11:56+11:00

Oleg Markov will leave Richmond and sign a two-year deal at Gold Coast.

The 24-year-old has been starved of opportunity in recent years, playing just six games for the Tigers in 2020.

After AFL Trade Radio’s Mitch Cleary reported that Markov would take up a multi-year offer at the Suns, Gold Coast football boss Jon Haines confirmed the story on Friday morning.

“We’re certainly very interested in Oleg and he’s very keen to come to us,” he said on AFL Trade Radio’s Trade Mornings.

“We’re reasonably confident we’re going to be able to get that done.”

Markov played 23 games over four years at Richmond after being taken with pick 50 in the 2015 National Draft.
