St Kilda refusing to give Richmond first-round pick for Higgins

2020-11-11T10:05+11:00

ST KILDA is refusing to give Richmond its first-round draft pick for wantaway forward Jack Higgins.

Higgins is desperate to get to the Saints in a trade most believe will happen before Thursday’s 7.30pm deadline, but the specifics of the exchange are still being thrashed out.

The deal revolves around second-round picks and future second-round picks and some later pick swaps.

Sources say Dan Butler’s move to the Saints from Richmond last year in exchange for pick 56 hasn’t helped the Higgins deal.

At 21, both clubs believe Higgins’ upside is enormous.

But he has watched Richmond win its last two premierships from the stands and wants to play regular football with a side in finals contention.
