Lloyd's top five players who will have the biggest impact at their new club in 2021

2020-11-12T08:22+11:00

Matthew Lloyd has gone through who he believes will have the biggest impact at their new clubs in 2021 of the players who have been traded or will seemingly be traded.

“Today it’s about the biggest impact of all the players that have been traded. I know some of these deals haven’t gone through yet,” Lloyd told AFL Trade Radio.

“Dan Butler may have been the biggest impact player from last year’s trade period, so it’s about who I believe will have the biggest impact for their club in 2021.

“Some good players have been left out. I’ve left out Josh Dunkley, I’ve left out Adam Treloar, I’ve left out Isaac Smith, I’ve left out Ben Brown, but these are the players I believe will have the biggest impact.”

5. Zac Williams (Carlton)

“Number five is the most speculative of them all. I say speculative because I’m not sure just how good this guy is, but I can’t wait to see him at a big Victorian club and see how he goes.”

“I’m going to back him in across the midfield and half back. I thin he’ll possibly play both roles, but it would be great for Carlton if he can be a real impact clearance player.

“He had 10 clearances and was bet on ground against Collingwood in a Prelim, so it just shows what he’s capable of and he’ll get those opportunities.”

4. Shaun Higgins (Geelong)

“I reckon this bloke is an absolute gun. I think Higgins is a super player and for whatever reason I think his role changed at North Melbourne, but he’s been a super player for North Melbourne.”

“I think he’ll step into this Geelong team and he’s an upgrade on what Gary Ablett was this year. I think he can be top four or five this year in their best and fairest and help them win a premiership.”

3. Joe Daniher (Brisbane)

“I think that what he can do for the Brisbane Lions, he can help them win a premiership.”

“Give him a good pre-season and Daniher, we talk about Peter Wright maybe kicking 25 goals, Daniher can kick you 50 plus.

“He probably hasn’t been engaged like he should be at the Bombers in recent times.”

2. Adam Saad (Carlton)

“I think he’s just about the most proven of all of them. Top three in the best and fairest, very consistent.”

“I remember watching him play for Victoria versus the Allies and I know it was a bit of circle work, but what a player he is.

“Put him in a stronger team, not that Carlton have been, but they should push for finals and you know what you get from Saad every week and that’s why Essendon is pretty hurt by that loss.”

1. Jeremy Cameron (Geelong*)

“A bit similar to Daniher, he looked disinterested this year and I think you put him in that Geelong team with so many champions around him, I think at the Cattery he can have some big games.”

“Cameron should kick around that 60-goal mark and we’ve got him potentially helping Geelong win the premiership next year.”
