Essendon and St Kilda no closer to agreeing deal for speedster

2020-11-12T17:18+11:00

St Kilda’s Nick Hind has requested a trade to Essendon, but no deal has been finalised with just over two hours left of the Trade Period.

The 26-year-old, who played 10 games for the Saints this year, has been targeted by the Bombers as they look to add extra speed to their side following the departure of Adam Saad to Carlton.

Saints Chief Operating Officer Simon Lethlean confirmed Hind’s desire to get to Tullamarine before Thursday night’s trade deadline, but said no deal has been agreed to as of yet.

“That’s certainly his request (to be traded) and it’s Essendon’s desire (to pick him up),” he told AFL Trade Radio.

“We haven’t been able to find a trade that either party will be able to commit to at the moment.

“But three hours can be a fairly long time at the end of Trade Period, so we’ll see what eventuates.”

AFL Media’s Callum Twomey later reported that Essendon is not the only club interested in the speedster.
