North Melbourne has expressed late interest in Collingwood winger Tom Phillips, according to SEN Chief Sports Reporter Sam Edmund.
The 24-year-old’s future remains uncertain heading in the final hours of the trade period, with Hawthorn reportedly showing interest in previous weeks.
Edmund now believes the Roos have also shown preliminary interest in Phillips, who played 15 games for the Pies this season.
He is reporting that despite the late play, there is plenty of work to do when it comes to finalising any potential deal which sees Phillips make the move to Arden Street.
Phillips is one of several players that Collingwood are looking to move on as they battle salary cap problems.
The Trade Period concludes at 7:30pm AEDT tonight.
NORTH Melbourne have expressed their interest in Tom Phillips. There's plenty of work to do, but the Roos are considering making a play for the Collingwood winger, who has a year to run on Pies contract. For a side without a senior coach North have been active!
