SEN Track Preview: Moonee Valley Friday night best bets

2020-11-13T11:15+11:00

Friday night under lights once again at Moonee Valley with eight races to be run and won.

Track is currently rated as a Good 4 with overcast conditions with the rail out five metres for the entire circuit.

Race 2 Fillies & Mares Benchmark-70 (1000m) @ 6:00pm

Chrome Angel

Ran a terrific race here two weeks ago when narrowly pipped on the line by Hint Of Mint. Faces some of the same horses that she faced in that race and has plenty in her favour here to suggest she will go close once again. She draws the inside barrier, has Jamie Kah riding and should be around the mark.

Suggested Bet: Back Chrome Angel to win ($4.60 win)

Race 4 Three-year-old Class 1 Handicap (1600m) @ 7:00pm

Unchain My Bike

Ran a solid race last start in a Benchmark-64 race behind Bacchus here a fortnight ago where he didn’t get a lot of luck. He got caught behind tiring leaders and lost himself several lengths. Once he got off their heels, he ran through the line very nicely to suggest he would’ve gone awfully close if he had clear running room. Drawn to get a similar run this time and if he can get the luck in running this time around, he should be right in the finish.

Fender Bender

Should appreciate the step back in grade for this from Group 3 level and if he can replicate a similar run to what he produced in the Gothic Stakes behind Endanger, he should be a top chance to win this. His form reads nicely prior and while he will likely need some luck from the inside barrier, he should go close if he gets it.

Suggested Bet: Back Unchain My Bike with a bigger place than win bet ($6 win, $2.20 place) and Fender Bender to win ($5.50 win)

Race 6 Benchmark-70 (2040m) @ 8:00pm

Humble Pie

Ran a terrific race here last start and looked all over a winner but was unable to get past a gallant Diplomac Jack. It was this six-year-old's second run here in Australia and the former Kiwi horse should go close once again here. Looks to be a solid tempo on paper in the race which will suit him nicely and comes into this third-up with further fitness. Should be awfully hard to beat.

Suggested Bet: Back Humble Pie to win ($2.90 win)

Race 8 Benchmark-64 Handicap (1200m) @ 9:00pm

Kootara

Was a real eye-catcher last start with the way she flew home from the back of the field to finish second at Kyneton. That was over the 1100m and she steps out to 1200m here where her form from last preparation was particularly strong over this trip. She should go back from her wide barrier and will appreciate the strong tempo that there looks to be on paper. If they can run on from the back tonight, she is a strong each-way chance in the last.

Suggested Bet: Back Kootara each-way ($7 win, $2.30 place)
