Rendell's Trade Grades - North Melbourne

2020-11-17T14:44+11:00

Former AFL recruiter Matt Rendell has delivered his assessments of each of the 18 clubs and their performances in the recent Trade Period.

Next on the agenda is North Melbourne who despite having no coach made some clever moves but did lose two key pillars.

See Rendell's Tyrepower Trade Grade for the Roos below:

Trade Grade: B+

Rendell says:
Senior players out in Shaun Higgins and Ben Brown and not much back in return, which was of their own making.

Another club who is going to attack the draft, this year and next, and received the added bonus of getting Jaidyn Stephenson and Atu Bosenavulagi for very little and particularly Aidan Corr, who I rate.

They have targeted youngish players because they are not going to challenge the top 8 for about three years. Will top up their list with some delisted players and will pre-pay players and have a treasure chest in 2-3 years like the Crows.

They were going nowhere, so this has been a very good period for North but you won't see the fruits of their labour for two years. I have given them a B+.

Ins:
Jaidyn Stephenson (from Collingwood)
Atu Bosenavulagi (from Collingwood)
Aidan Corr (from GWS)
Lachie Young (from Western Bulldogs)

Outs:
Shaun Higgins (to Geelong)
Ben Brown (to Melbourne)

2020 draft hand:
2, 11, 30, 39, 71, 81

2020 season performance:
Wins: 3
Losses: 14
Position: 17th
