SEN Track Preview: Friday night Cranbourne racing best bets

2020-11-27T10:15+11:00

Friday night racing comes to Cranbourne tonight with Moonee Valley hosting the Victorian feature racing tomorrow.

The track is currently rated as a Good 4 with the weather fine as temperatures expected to hit a top of 34 degrees today. The rail is out 9m after previously being out 7m.

Race 2 Maiden Plate (1300m) @ 6:30pm

Mighty Feat

Looks to be the perfect race for this four-year-old Gelding to break is maiden. He has drawn low and should be able to roll to the front without a whole lot of pressure. The form out of his last start at Pakenham over 1400m has been relatively strong and has rated well. He steps back in trip here which should suit and has the services of Craig Williams to ride. Should get his chance tonight.

Suggested Bet: Back Mighty Feat to win ($3.70)

Race 5 Class 1 Handicap (1400m) @ 8:00pm

Narvaez

Looks to have found a good race first-up here. The son of Vancouver has strong form from his runs last preparation with a third to Tommy Gold first-up before beating Galactic Fury and Confrontational at Bendigo over the mile. He took on strong company late last preparation including finishing just over five lengths off Cherry Tortoni at Flemington. He looks like he will lead this field up under Craig Williams and while he may be wanting a bit further this prep, I think he has the class to beat these first-up.

Suggested Bet: Back Nervaez to win ($2.70)

Race 6 Benchmark-70 (1000m) @ 8:30pm

Brazen Brando

Bit of an open race here with a few chances but I feel this four-year-old son of Brazen Beau looks over the odds. Won well first-up last preparation, albeit in Benchmark-58 grade, and was competitive in some relatively strong races after that. He looks to get a perfect run in the race from barrier five. Jumpout leading into this was solid and he has a good chance here to run well.

Suggested Bet: Back Brazen Brando with a small win and a big place bet ($6 win, $1.95 place)

Race 7 Benchmark-64 (1200m) @ 9:00pm

Our Guardian Angel

She looks to have a class edge here and I’m expecting a strong performance from her first-up here. She is lightly raced and has been in relatively strong form races throughout her eight-start career to date. Looks to get a nice tempo that should be able to bring her into the race, if they are able to make ground from the back tonight. She has jumped out well leading into this and she is well within a chance of a first-up victory.

Suggested Bet: Back Our Guardian Angel with a small win and big place bet ($5.50 win, $1.95 place)
