2020-12-08T13:15+11:00

Essendon is understood to be meeting Richmond father-son prospect Maurice Rioli Jnr prior to Wednesday night's AFL Draft.

According to AFL Media reporter Callum Twomey, the Bombers are set to meet with Rioli Jnr on Tuesday who is tied to the club’s Next Generation Academy.

It raises the possibility of Essendon bidding for the exciting small forward.

Rioli, who is also eligible to join Fremantle as a father-son, has reportedly nominated the Tigers as his preferred destination where he would play alongside his cousin Daniel.

His late father Maurice played 118 for Richmond and won the 1982 Norm Smith Medal.
